August Already

It's August already! Most of the year has gone by and experiences gained. It feels like time has flown by, and I did not get a chance to work on some of the stuff I had hoped too. However, as the tennis legend Nadal said, "if-if-if...doesn't exist". So let's focus on the now.

This month I am hosting a Game Jam. Yes, after participating in many, I am finally hosting my own. But...why? and for who? For 5-6 months now, I have been looking for game jams by Indian Communities to take part in. I was hoping to find many, I found a few, too few. It seems like the industry in India is built on stilts. Stilts which are not needed, and also preventing enthusiastic developers to be part of this industry. The communities which have resources and experience to help the struggling developers were excluding them from even participating. And others were hanging scraps for hungry developers to jump on and trample others. As a result the industry feels unapproachable.

Seeing this I decided to host my own jam. Where those looking for opportunities to grow could take part. I am hoping that likeminded people will find each other and collaborate on projects as an outcome of this jam. So far I have managed to secure partnerships, conduct workshops at a highschool, and have some organic sign ups.
